Job Requirements and Positions
- Minimum Requirement: BA degree in any area and a 150-hour TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification.
- TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 recognized worldwide, equivalent to CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL.
- Opportunities: Teach children and adults in diverse settings, including schools, colleges, businesses, private tutoring, and online platforms.
- Government authentication of TESOL / TEFL / TESL certification is required to obtain the work permit in many countries. Global Affairs Canada authenticates certificates issued by course providers on the list of recognized TESL Canada programs.
- Minimum Requirement: TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 certification.
- Opportunities: Teach international students, college students, and newcomers in various Canadian settings, including schools, community programs, colleges, and online tutoring.
- High demand for ESL teachers to assist new immigrants and over 40,000 immigrants arriving in BC annually. Welcome BC

Pay & Apply Time:
- Entry-level ESL teachers earn between $25 and $30 per hour.
- Senior ESL teachers earn up to $45 per hour.

The Best Time to Apply:
- Language schools hire year-round, with peak hiring times in January or May.
- Most IELTS preparation courses, colleges, universities, and LINC programs hire for terms starting in September or as needed.
