Job Requirements and Positions
  • Minimum Requirement: BA degree in any area and a 150-hour TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification.
  • TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 recognized worldwide, equivalent to CELTA or Trinity CertTESOL.
  • Opportunities: Teach children and adults in diverse settings, including schools, colleges, businesses, private tutoring, and online platforms.
  • Government authentication of TESOL / TEFL / TESL certification is required to obtain the work permit in many countries. Global Affairs Canada authenticates certificates issued by course providers on the list of recognized TESL Canada programs.
  • Minimum Requirement: TESL Canada Professional Standard 1 certification.
  • Opportunities: Teach international students, college students, and newcomers in various Canadian settings, including schools, community programs, colleges, and online tutoring.

Pay & Apply Time:

  • Entry-level ESL teachers earn between $25 and $30 per hour.

  • Language schools hire year-round, with peak hiring times in January or May.
